prior to removal

With outside gear cover removed, the two 8 mm bolts (11mm wrench size) are accessible.


 

Here and at right, the crankshaft fixation pin is inserted into the impulse fitting to lock the crankshaft

With the crank locked as described, it is OK to remove the drive gear bolt. (3/4" wrench size)

The Rotax Drive Gear Puller

Installing the drive gear puller, making sure 100% of the puller body threads are utilized

With crankshaft fixation pin removed, the puller body can be held by one wrench while cranking down the puller center bolt.

Gearbox flange runnout was checked at less than .001 inches
